Set in beautifully manicured gardens, with a spacious communal swimming pool and children’s pool, the ground floor apartment forms part of a mainly residential and security-gated community. The main bedroom and lounge/dining area have windowed doors leading to a sunny terrace offering stunning views along the coast. Close to a small supermarket and a couple of restaurants, the apartment is only a few minutes drive from the main Calahonda shopping areas and offers easy access to an amazing array of local leisure activities. The Costa del Sol/Malaga region The Costa del Sol is an all-year-round holiday destination providing numerous sporting, family and cultural activities. Golf courses abound in this area providing some of the best courses in Europe. A vast variety of sporting activities are available including water sports, riding, cycling, tennis, walking. Family attractions include water parks at Fuengirola and Torremolinos, Tivoli World theme park in Benalmadena, Fuengirola zoo, Sea-life centre, go-karting, mini-bikes and much more. The vibrant spanish life is depicted across this Andalucian region and can be sampled in numerous locations including the larger cities of Malaga, Seville, Cadiz and Grenada, further inland throught the towns of Coin, Elhaurin, Benahavis or Mijas, or in any of the small andalusian villages. Take a visit to Ronda to the bullring and gorge. For those wishing to travel further, the ski resort of Sierra Nevada is about 2 hours away and Gibraltar, with its history and duty-free shopping is about 1 hour. Make sure you visit the famous apes on the rock and stock up in Marks & Spencers ! There are also various trips available to North African destinations. Calahonda area The main bars and restaurants of Calahonda and the 'El Zoco' shopping complex are approx 4 mins drive away. The local road train passes right by the front of the apartment offering a service to Calahonda town past the golf course, tennis/squash club, bars and restaurants. Calahonda is situated midway between Fuengirola and Marbella. A small children's playground is located at the end of the apartment complex. The Club del Sol tennis and squash centre is within 5 minutes walk offering over 15 hard and clay tennis courts, 6 squash courts and paddle tennis. Coaching and mix-in sessions for all ages are available all-year-round. The choice of golf courses within the area is huge and details of the courses can be found at www.sunshine-golf.co.uk or visit their shop at La Cala. The La Siesta 9-hole par 3 course is located in the valley of Calahonda within 10 minutes walk from the apartment. There are numerous locations to indulge in a range of watersports including water-skiing, wind-surfing and scuba diving. We have good contacts with a local diving school which can tailor an experience to suit beginners or experienced divers, please contact us for more details. The quaint town of La Cala and the fabulous marina at Capobino, both with beautiful beaches, are no more than 10 minutes drive away. The Hippodrome racecourse is located in La Cala for those who enjoy a flutter on the horses. The exclusive resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus with their fabulous shops, restaurants and nightlife are within 15 minutes, as is the ‘La Canada’ shopping complex. How to get there The nearest airport is at Malaga, approx 20-25 minutes drive from the apartment. Gibraltar airport is also a possible destination about one to one and a half hours drive. Easyjet , Monarch, bmibaby, Thomson and British Airways all fly to Malaga. The main bedroom also has patio doors leading out to the terrace. The lounge is equipped with satellite tv and a dvd/cd/mp3 player. There is ample storage space throughout the apartment and an additional, small covered terrace outside the kitchen provides large storage capacity for golf clubs, pushchairs, beach equipment etc. The apartment has air-conditioning in the lounge and also has heaters for the cooler winter months. Further details outdoors: The main terrace is spacious and south-facing, receiving all-day sun, furnished with a table, 6 chairs and 2 loungers. The pools are set amongst private mature gardens with both grass and paved sun terraces including toilets and showering facilities. The apartment is set in a gated community with access for residents only. There is a secure underground garage included for guest use, vital as parking throughout the Calahonda area is at a premium. Please note that the apartment community is located on the hillside therefore access paths through the gardens contain a number of steps and may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties.
